Drain Repairs & Relining

Cracked joints, root damage, displaced sections and collapses put right — without digging up the garden wherever the pipe allows it. Quoted from a survey, verified on camera afterwards.

Fixing the Cause, Not the Symptom

Most drains that block repeatedly are damaged. A cracked joint, a root, a sagging section holding water, a pipe that's lost its shape — all of them catch debris every single time something passes. Clearing works, briefly, and then you're back where you started.

The good news is that a lot of drainage repair no longer means digging up the garden. Where the pipe still has structural integrity, it can often be repaired from the inside.

Repair Methods

How Drains Get Fixed

Which method suits depends entirely on what the survey shows — which is why repair quotes should follow a survey, not precede one.

Patch lining

A resin-impregnated patch is positioned over a single defect and cured in place, sealing a cracked joint or a short damaged section without excavation. Quickest and cheapest where the damage is localised.

Full relining

A liner is drawn through the whole run and cured, forming a new pipe inside the old one. Suits drains with multiple defects along their length, and no digging.

Root cutting and sealing

Roots cut back, then the entry point sealed so they can't return. Cutting alone just resets the clock.

Excavation and replacement

Where a drain has fully collapsed or lost alignment, there's nothing left to line and the section has to be dug out and replaced. We'll tell you honestly when that's the case.

Chamber and gully repairs

Broken manhole covers, damaged chambers and cracked gullies — smaller jobs, but a broken cover is a genuine hazard and a cracked gully lets ground material into the system.

Rerounding pitch-fibre

Pitch-fibre pipe deforms and collapses inwards with age. Where it can be reshaped and lined it's a far cheaper outcome than digging out the whole run.

Build note — delete before launch. Confirm with Sam which of these methods the business actually offers in-house versus subcontracts. Anything not genuinely offered should be cut rather than left on the page.
Order Of Events

Survey First, Always

1

Clear and clean

Flow restored and the pipe cleaned so the drain can actually be assessed.

2

Survey

Camera run to find the defect, its position and its severity.

3

Fixed quote

A price for the specific repair the survey identified — not a guess, and not open-ended.

4

Repair and verify

Work carried out, then a post-repair camera run so you can see it's actually been fixed.

FAQs

Common Questions

Can drains be repaired without digging?

Often, yes. Where the pipe retains structural integrity, patch lining or full relining forms a new pipe inside the existing one with no excavation. Where a drain has fully collapsed there is nothing left to line and the section has to be dug out and replaced.

How long does drain relining last?

A properly installed liner is a long-term repair rather than a patch-up, and manufacturers typically quote design lives measured in decades. We will confirm the expected life of the specific product used on your job.

Do I need a survey before a repair?

Yes, and be wary of anyone quoting a repair without one. The method and the cost depend entirely on what the defect actually is and where it sits. Quoting blind means either an inflated price or a variation later.

Will my insurance cover drain repairs?

Many home insurance policies include cover for damage to underground drains you are responsible for, though gradual deterioration is often excluded. Insurers generally require CCTV evidence, which we can supply.

How do I know the repair worked?

We run the camera again after the repair, so you can see the finished result rather than take our word for it.
